Lizz Cowley is a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and Yoga Alliance E-RYT200. She received her credentials in 2009 from the Shambhava School of Yoga with a foundation in heart centered meditation and movement. She began teaching in Casper, Wyoming and continues to share her love for yoga and meditation in Omaha, Nebraska. Lizz believes that yoga begins in the heart and transcends the body. It lives in everything and can be recognized through inner focus and awareness of life's rhythms. Yoga can serve as a foundation and a fulcrum for personal development, and can challenge and enrich a person's life in many dimensions. Lizz's favorite styles of asana practice include Hatha, Yin, and Restorative Yoga.
Yoga provides us with the opportunity to generate mindfulness. Mindfulness isn't just a buzzword. Spending time within our own awareness asks us to think, act, speak, and live with intention. Pausing offers us moments of clarity, the breath can guide us toward right thought, and we can proceed to live fully. Yoga is a natural part of life's rhythm.
The first half of this class aims to build a foundational understanding of breathwork and posture, with attention given to alignment. The second half of class focuses on comfortable poses that help the body and mind rest deeply.
