As a teen I came to meditation and mindfulness practices seeking relief from symptoms of bipolar disorder. The practices changed me, and probably saved my life. It took a few years of being in-and-out of practice before I chose to become a more serious student. I found my way to the Omaha Yoga School and began studying Classical Yoga with Meredith Busher and Margaret Hahn. Meredith had a special way of teaching me to find home within myself and Margaret ignited my desire to share yoga with others and encouraged me to do so.
In 2009, a weird turn of events took me to a residential yoga teacher training at the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat outside Boulder, CO. Staying at the ashram during that time helped me appreciate yoga in a way I had forgotten; it was sourced deep in the heart-mind, transcendent of the body, and fully accessible through the rhythms and rituals of daily life.
I consider myself a lifelong student and I enjoy sharing the things I've learned from fellow students and many incredible teachers. What I do comes from my heart and I hope that what we find together during practice sweetens the world in which we live. My favorite styles of asana to practice include Hatha, Restorative, and Yin, and I love long-held forward folds and twists.
I also enjoy lavender infused milk chocolate with earl grey tea, spending time with my lovely daughter, singing and playing music, and the scent and sounds of the mountains. Thank you for being interested in what I do!
